I use a Yavapai slide fixture from Brownell's.

General question regarding cutting on the slide such as done here. Is there much stress relief due to the material being removed? Particularly what brought this to mind was flat topping it. How does that affect the fit on the frame? Is there a tendency for the slide to open up and get sloppy or tighten up?

I have flat topped several slides so I could mount a C-more closer to the slide, and didn't notice any significant change in the slide to frame fitment. But I didn't do any before and after measurements either.

Like wrmiller, I haven't seen any change in fit with any of the slides I have cut or helped students cut.
