With limited shop space I have my hardware (at least what's not in boxes on the floor) in one of my toolcart drawers. I just stopped at the local BORG and noticed they had these hardware containers which fits perfectly in my drawer heightwise and use this to separate the bolts and nuts (still in progress):

this has got me thinking - am I the only one that "wastes" toolcart space for hardware? where/how do you guys store/organize your hardware (no pic = it didn't happen ) ?

Here is the majority of mine, I do have some small stuff in those storage containers like you have as well:

oh wow Kenny , now I really feel amateurish :) (and not minding it at all). sweet setup.

keep'em coming

If by HARDWARE you mean screws then this is where I keep everything 10-32 and smaller.
There is also some of everything in the big bottom miscellaneous box.

that's a lot of hardware storage - that's great!

Gary: My original post was about bolts/screws/bearings/springs/etc, but anything "hardware" goes.

long ago in a land far far away (aka about 60 years ago and in NJ)
my father started to save his cans (yup cans) that his Camel unfiltered cigarettes came in, he painted them green, and marked them with the size of nuts / bolts inside.

I've kept the cans and continue to use them as my containers.
I also use the more modern plastic drawer trays for smaller / lighter stuff, but I much prefer the metal cans.

(hopefully that attachments work)

that's cool (continuing the tradition). My dad used similar paint/glass jars. I remember as a kid having to rammage through them to try and find a suitable screw/bolt for a project at hand.

never knew Camels came in jars like that, how many fit in each?100?
