Shop Floor Options

I'd have just left it, it's a shop floor it's going to take abuse. I'll leave mine concrete when I get my shop built. But, your floor does look good and it makes the room much brighter.

That looks like a place I'd rather spend time at now. It was just too dingy before. That new white paint !

Awesome job! I am SOOOOO sorry I did not put in VCT before I moved the equipment into my basement shop, both wood and metal working stuff. The dust, the chips from dropped tools, the cold (not that tile will help much with that), the hardness of standing on it, the color...for the price you just can't beat that tile.

Nice.. I like the checkerboard pattern, & will keep that in mind for my 'someday' shop space.

How does the VCT hold up when moving machines around on it? I move my stuff around a lot.

I used a penetrating water based sealer. It looks just like it did before I put it down, but no dust, and it's easy to clean up oil spills and such. The tile looks great. Mike

Good, penetrating concrete sealers work well and can even (in some cases) prolong the life of the floor. The secret is following the application procedures closely including preparation.
