Round colume mill repositioning

I use a dial indicator in combination with a rod on a magnetic base. Before moving the head I place the rod against the head and then zero the DI. Move the head and then bring the head back until the rod just touches the head and the DI reads zero.

I put torque arm on my round column mill.

Now I can move head up and down and stays in place. It is a hex bar it had on hand a square bar would be better.
