hey guys maybe you can help, i like reloading with hodgedon 4350 powder, my question is i would like to use this on all my rifles, 3030, 308, 7mag, 303 british mosin7.62x54r, 6.55 swede, some of these calibers hodgedon has the load data the others it doesnt, is this going to be a trial and error thing, and how much less powder i should use to start with a safe load, and does anyone have a extra 30 cal bullet mold they might be willing to part with for a price. thanks mac:thinking:

I would discourage doing so simply because the pressure characteristics are vastly different between a 30-30 (saami max 42,000psi) and a 7mm mag (saami max 61,000psi). You might get away with it but that doesn't mean the pressure profile isn't unsafe (multiple spikes, too rapid a spike etc...) not worth it in my opinion. Stick to standard safe practices and let somebody with a pressure barrel experiment for you.

I wouldn't do it either.

I would try to find the fewest powders (hopefully 2) that will cover the range of calibers you have. If you're just looking to put bullets through the barrel without regards to accuracy this will work.
If accuracy is what you are looking for you really need to tailor your powder to your round AND the rifle that's shooting it.

There is a website " LoadData.com" ran by Wolfe publishing. You have to subscribe to it but they have 10,000's of loads both published from reloading manuals and from guys testing out loads. That may be a good source to get info on the load and powder you want to use.

Good Luck. Hopefully in the current buying frenzy you can still find your powder.

I would echo what has been said above and try to find a couple of powders that work. If you are shooting cast lead bullets, you may want to check out the castboolits site, particularly for the C&R's. There are some "universal" loads out there using Bullseye or 2400 that work across a variety of old calibers. I typically load my 7.62x54r and 303Brit with the same light cast bullet and Bullseye if I'm just punching paper out to 100 yards.

looking for loading data involving cast bullets, try the lyman manual. Lyman has a good listing for cast bullet reloading.
