HillBillz, then the serial number is in the normal location for up until some time shortly after 1940. Directional reference for lathes and mills are in general relative to where the operator normally stands.

That storage unit looks interesting. Did you try to track down Horton to see whether or not they are still in business?

I did look kinda quick. Not at home and will post better pic of it. I seem to recall Horton on this label/badge was in Minnesota.

I know not much about lathes (yet) but that machine looks showroom new and too purdy to use!!

OK. Thanks. From the abbreviation MINN instead of MN, I would guess it is probably 50+ years old, Chances of finding another like it are probably slim.
