Removing burrs from parallels

So my parallels have accumulated a few burrs here and there which I noticed while trying to level my lathe.

It seems the correct way to remove these would be to purchase a set of precision ground stones based on Robin Renzetti's video on the topic. This is quite expensive and a bit hard to swallow while I'm saving a bit of money for a DRO.

Is there an option here I'm not seeing here to get some of these burrs cleaned up without setting me back $300~?

Was looking at the 6" stones from Kinetic Precision: https://www.kineticprecision.com/purchase/precision-ground-flat-stones-pdnwh

They have 4" stones, but my parallels are 6" and I was concerned about creating a low spot.

You're only stoning the burrs and not the entire parallel . Use a small stone and you'll be fine .

I paid about $65 if I recall correctly for a pair of ground stones. They are a very good thing to have to clean up burs. They don't cut the main flat surface, only the burs above the surface. Mine were the 4" stones.

One could use normal stones, but one is risking making the parallels non parallel.

I'll have to go to my eBay history and check. They are ground Norton stones.

Heh I have a "pebble" stone for my knives which I've used maybe once. I guess I could try the finest grit from that for a second and see where that puts me.
