Removing burrs from parallels

So my parallels have accumulated a few burrs here and there which I noticed while trying to level my lathe.

It seems the correct way to remove these would be to purchase a set of precision ground stones based on Robin Renzetti's video on the topic. This is quite expensive and a bit hard to swallow while I'm saving a bit of money for a DRO.

Is there an option here I'm not seeing here to get some of these burrs cleaned up without setting me back $300~?

I know you can get cheaper stones . Where did you see $300 ?

I paid about $65 if I recall correctly for a pair of ground stones. They are a very good thing to have to clean up burs. They don't cut the main flat surface, only the burs above the surface. Mine were the 4" stones.

One could use normal stones, but one is risking making the parallels non parallel.

I'd be hitting the "buy now" button immediately for that price. Where did you buy those out of curiosity? That's the price of two "normal" stones from what I can find: Norton stones on Amazon
