I would also recommend an adapter. If you have a 3D printer, there are models on thingiverse.com for them. I broke one, but I deserved it for hitting the end of travel. On the up side it didn't damage the mill or the drill.

I didnt have an adapter. Couldn't chuck on the shaft, it was too large. Dont want to spend $ on things till I figure out if these mills are fixable. I ended up doing it by hand.
 
I don't know anything about bridgeports, I just bought one and am trying to figure things out. The locked spindle may just be bad bearings or a misaligned gear. I would try to diagnose what is wrong with your "Parts Machine" before sacrificing it. If you can fix it and sell it, it will substantially increase your budget for accessories. Don't assume the motor is bad until you have checked the switch and wiring, it could be a simple fix.
