Power feed lock up

In the lower right hand corner of the picture, is that a clutch lever? It looks like it is hitting the structure…. Possibly not fully engaging or bent? Just a thought.

It kind of looks like the carriage is butted up against the tail stock. If so maybe that is putting enough force on things that you can't release that Half Nut.

Other than that you should be able to unbolt the half nut from the carriage to loosen things up.

The lever with the red arrow that mksj mentioned should be up. I also agree the carriage over traveled into the headstock. Can you pull up on the clutch lever on the bottom while jiggling the half nut lever? If not, you may need to turn the lead screw backwards somehow. All of this without power.

Thanks guys. I will report back when I can. Probably tomorrow before I can get to it.

This.

With the carriage against the carriage stop or tailstock your half nut lever may be difficult to move.

Try simply pulling up on it harder.

Release the tailstock lock and pull the tailstock to the right, then start working on the half-nuts lever.

You are (were) correct. There was indeed enough force on everything to freeze the half nut.

Thanks everybody……….
