I ran across Parts Depot while looking for a type 200 power feed that apparently has been discontinued. I found it on parts depot for $216

I've emailed the to confirm it is a type 200 as their picture shows a type 140. I've been looking at other stuff and I can get 50lbs of glass beads trinco brand for $22 with free shipping for over $60.

They also have a acurite dro for $300

And this is what they have for air compressors.

Trust pilot has them at an excellent rating.

And yes I do remember the old saying, if it's too good to be true it is.

So anyone else have any info on parts depot? I'm about to pull the trigger on the power feed and see how that goes. If well I'll do the DRO and probably 500lbs of glass beads.

Not sure about them, but back when I was more active hunting for tools, I used to find bargains all the time. I literally have a collection of tools that could have cost me a small fortune if I had paid the full retail price.

The industrial sector has way too many different things and sometimes really good stuff just gets liquidated because it's too specific and there is probably not enough demand to keep the supply line open. I'd say, one finds needles in the haystacks because you knew what you were looking for beforehand and did not get lost in the sea of things they offer.

In other words, you were probably the only person looking for that item at the time you found it.

EDIT: On the other hand, this doesn't sound very confidence inspiring:

You got the wrong domain there. The domain in alloy’s post is onlinepartsdepots.com :geek:

The site seems like a total scam anyway. The website registrar is located in China and the site contact email lamtridung086592@gmail.com has been reported as fraudulent. The same email is associated with other similar sites like hotbestwheels.com, best-furniture-store.com, food.big-marts.com, buyitbythecases.com etc.

You really think a site like this is legit? I see these pop-up all the time, prices too good to be true. I also look up the site statistics, if they haven't been up for several years I avoid them. Also beware of those with names similar to other mainstream companies, same goes for phone numbers. They often have almost the same 800 number but look for people that misdial a digit. Had that happen once, and the first thing they wanted was my name and credit card information so they could help me. Sure thing, click.

Scams and cons are ubiquitous. They all work on the same principle of triggering the greed of the victim. Making you want the prize so much you loose all common sense...

A $6,000 Air Compressor for $300, Is there really any question?

They have done quite well though with the front page using kind of believable end of line discounts.

Wow. It is an very extensive website to be totally fake.

It is very extensive. Thousands of pages. That's what almost gets me to take a chance. I'm not sure if there is a way to change all the prices on the site at one time, or if they did it one by one.

My feeling is they hijacked the domain. My site was hijacked once and the opening page was the same, but click on a link and it went to a Viagra site.

I'm guessing they swiped a real website and then wholesale marked down some or all of the merch. I ran across one of these fakes a few years back and the prices were good, yet very believable. The least believable part was that they had items that were hard to find. Gotta watch out and do your due diligence for any site you've never heard of.
