opening the i.d. of a grinding stone / ceramic rock

McMaster Carr sells a 80 grit Norton wheel 6" x 1/4" with a 1-1/4 hole for $27. Item number 44475A22. Then either make or buy a arbor bushing.

Are you shure on the width 1/4" is thin. what are you putting it on.

maybe 3/8 would fit.
i was / still might mount it on my "Oliver of Adrian" ace grinder and attempt to use it for a make shift but very accurate surface grinder. the arbor on the machine is quite short, im going to look closer at making a bushing.

first job to grind / flatten my magnetic chuck, then a couple of compressor valve cases. id need to stand with a squirt bottle of coolant im sure.
