Norton 5SG Vitrified Toolroom 7" x 1 1/4 Big Bucks!

David, you are correct.
I buy the Sopko hubs from McMaster. They run around $65 last time I bought one.

Sopko hubs also appear from time to time on eBay. I bought 6 of them last year in a lot for around $30.00 a unit. If you're not in a hurry do a search on eBay. If nothing you're interested in shows up save the search. When something does show up with your key words in it you'll get a notification.

I got 4 sopro hubs on eBay for $90
And $90 for a half inch wheel jeez that is expensive. I’m pretty sure I’ve seen them cheaper but that was some time ago.

$90 for four is a great deal!

Whats real nice is I get a endless slightly fresh supply of wheels that are ~180mm dia, 50mm hub 10mm wide of 38A120 5SG180 5SG80 and even a 39CA500. I just have to make a 3d printed spacer for the hub size.

We also use a resin wheel 3NQP90 (sound about right) from Norton.

I am impressed!
Best wheel yet.
It only took two .002” passes with the diamond to clean up the pencil marks.
Great surface, no balance required.

$179 for one of those wheels for my Bridgeport SG

What grit did you get Jeff?

That is what I was thinking. The "46" is just peeking through by the hub. The "J' is the hardness of the stone with A being the softest and Z being the hardest. V is for vitrified. The S at the end might be proprietary. Not sure.

This is the first time I have used the ceramic technology.
Every Norton wheel I have purchased, made in Mexico, has been out of round.
This one is top quality.
