Picked up my new to me Clausing 100 Mk3 today.
Loading was easy as we just forked the lathe and the stand into my truck separately.
Unloading the stand was easy with my hoist.
The lathe was a bit of a trick as it wanted to tilt over.
Managed ok with lots of careful planning. The Clausing is heavier than my South Bend, likely another 100 lbs or so.
Location is a bit temporary till I get the bikes out and the wood moved.

Sweet, fits your space better?

John

Nice looking lathe, David.

Did you find it local? How long did you search?

Regards

Thanks!
Honestly I'm embarrassed to say how long.
My other lathe and mill were picked up on March 24. Last Sunday I texted a fellow I know locally who has a most amazing shop fully kitted out.
I have bought some things from him in the past and I knew he had a small lathe.
I asked him if he had one and he said yes and was planning to list it.
I went to see it yesterday, and picked it up today...
Sure different from the last time I was looking.

I like the lathe and the table set up. I completely understand where you are coming from on the length, as my South Bend 9 has the full length bed. It is much more than I need, but you take what you get, especially in my price range.

The length of my 10K was pretty alright actually. But the depth with horizontal drive was just crazy. Way too much in a narrow shop.
