New chuck adapter for SB 9

When you flip the plate around, it will only thread on so far leaving a gap between the spindle shoulder and the plate. This means
the plate will likely be spinning crooked. The spacer enables the plate to snug up to the spindle and run true
Ah! Got it. So obvious now that you say it! Appreciate the input. Hoping to knock that out (at least make progress) tomorrow

Well that took a while Between life getting in the way and me not really knowing what I'm doing!

The cast iron was super hard, so had to get some carbide tools to cut through the crust.

Then I had to figure out a better setup for drilling on my dinky HF drill press. The first hole walked pretty bad. My first setup wasn't very rigid, and I tried to go straight to the clearance hole size. I also did not counterbore the bolt heads, worried there would not be enough metal between the 2 parts?

But now that it's done, I have 2.5 thou of run out and I feel that's pretty good for a 3 jaw? Also wish the surface finish had turned out a little nicer. I was trying to move the carriage handwheel with one hand while holding a shop vac to mitigate dust with the other.

Any advice moving forward?
