Still pondering... Thanks for the ideas. I think I'm going back to keyed and will spend some money.

I have several Chinese chucks that are too heavy for fishing weights but too light for boat anchors. Some day I will figure out what to use them for.

I'm thinking plumb-bob. Put a sharpened nail in the chuck, add string viola! Now, what to do with the other plumb-bob I have ...
