Uncle Buck's lathe is the later version with 1/2" ways, and they certainly do command a premium. At $1K that machine would sell in about 10 minutes here, and would more likely go upwards of $1500.
The earlier Atlas/Craftsman 10" and 12" with the art deco headstock vary more. I declined a basket case yesterday for $300, asit would be worth no more than $600 assembled with new paint and everything fixed. But again, depends on location
