For Titanium, I believe the key to my succes is to use quality convex knurls as well as carbide pins. I also try to form the achieved knurl in only one pass to avoid work hardening & flaking. Doing the fully formed knurls I can sometimes get away by doing two passes, if I try a third pass I get flaking which either ends up making me say nasty things to the Ti or giving the Ti dirty looks when spending a lot of time trying the clean all the flakes out. And of course flood it like crazy.... I use Boelube. The partial knurls are way easier to form in just one pass.
