Need a Newbie Project for in home use.

Stainless steel salt and pepper shaker? You can buy the guts for the pepper and/or the salt shaker.

Napkin rings?

Set of matching wedding bands?

I made my daughter a set of aluminum earrings out of 3/4" turners cubes. I didn't go as far as breaking the nested cubes from each other though. Polished them in a vibrator tumbler. You could make them out of brass or just about any other material. Repeatable, easy fixturing was the bigger challenge since it was just drilling operations with center cutting mills. Biggest challenge was drilling a hole into one point of the cube to epoxy the earring chain hanger to the cube.

I've always wanted to take a stab at one of these

This one was done with CNC, but I see no reason you couldn't do it with manual machines. If you don't have a rotary table, you will need to get creative to get nice smooth curves (hint, you can get nice internal curves by plunging a fly cutter, just remember they are not center cutting).

Major plus, it is dead sexy.

I'll let you know. I'm gonna give that Tape Dispencer a shot. That is just too cool.

"Billy G" :))
