Great idea show us your Jig!The mandrel holds the work (gear) and the arbor holds the cutter.
Now do fixture vs jig
Edit:
drill vs drill bit
and bolt vs screw.
I just couldn't help myself.
See what Jeff64 said he is right. And thanks for commenting. This really could be fun if others would chime in with their tools.Involute gear tooth cutter or the workpiece (unknown)?
Under normal conditions you are right Jeff64 but neither is the mandrel. What appears to be a mandrel with a gear on it is actually a shaft that has a gear made into it. This is why I am repairing the gear instead of making just the gear or buying just the gear. The mandrel holds the work (gear) and the arbor holds the cutter.
