Travers had a sale. $146.99
Model#293-340-30. No it doesn’t have the USB connection and it’s coolant proof!
I have other micrometers but I wanted a digital 0-1”.
I used it yesterday for the first time.
It fits my hand, it’s balanced, it’s easy to read, I love the feel of the spindle, the ratchet has just the right tension. It turns off by itsel.
I love this thing!

I don't know about yours, but check your zero often. My Quantuum micrometer (Mitutoyo) drifts a little over temperature. If you make a critical measurement check your zero first. It doesn't drift a lot, but mine drifts a little. Mine seems like it is sensitive to how you approach zero. "Slam" into zero doesn't read the same as gently into zero. By slam into zero, I don't mean literally, but a harder closing to zero does not seem to match a softer closing reading. Eventually you adapt your technique to ease into the measurement. Even with this quirk, I love it.

I just won a Mitutoyo Micrometer from Practical Machinst...gotta say, the quality/feel/smoothness/battery-power use...pretty much everything, WELL worth the money (assuming you had to pay for it!) It's like a drug, they got me started, now I'm hooked!

Love that mic. It is my 0-1 go to mic.
