MT3 Drawbar Shank Dimensions

Yes. I need to know how far up into the quill the shank is going to extend (I know that this will be at least slightly variable) so that I can figure out how far down below the bottom of the tang slot my threaded rod has to extend, and how deep the threaded hole in the end of the shank is.

Here is a photo with the dimensions added. The threaded area appears to be pretty much up to the where the cuts stop, it is countersunk about 1/4" from the end. So I would say the threaded lenght is about 1 1/2"

The ER collet set, 1 inch through 1/16 and MT#3 holder can be found from various suppliers for under 250.00 USD.

I don't have that kind of money for this project. The entire drill press only cost me $200, and I can only justify that because I can use it as-is for an income-generating purpose. The mill conversion will never make me any money. Besides, this is a challenge.
