Try a bucket trap partially filed with spent cooking oil instead of water. It acts as an attractant and the mice will instantly sink to the bottom and drown as they have no buoyancy in oil. It is very effective.
 
Just type in Electronic Mouse Trap on Amazon - I have one and works good.
