Moody lathe.... South bend clone made in canada ...

Here's mine when I started. No motor, chuck, or feed gears so the plan is electronic leadscrew, 3 phase motor with vfd and whatever chucks I can find.

I love those moody lathes! well found!

Picked up a Moody a couple of months ago My original intent was to just move the table legs and thread-dial to my Southbend. But the damn thing has seen VERY little use so it has to be cleaned and restored. I have just started disassembly.
With the exception of the inboard bearing the headstock is now in pieces with nothing broken . I will add to this thread as the project progresses.

Hello , Just got one too , a 11x48 , in the process of completely dissasebling it to clean and fix , really happy you doccumented how to remove spindle , did you ever found the replacement bearing part Number?
back gear will need a fix but they make a repair gear for the southbend9 that is the exact gear .
anyone know how to date those based on vin number?
