I had a discussion with a gentleman named Barry Young on another forum a few years ago, and assembled some of his tool speed shortcuts into a chart that has been very useful for me. I have uploaded it here (in Excel and PDF format) in case it is of value to anyone else.

Hi, John... yes, adding the fudge factor gives you a wide range of speeds you can use. I usually ignore the fudge factor, then decrease RPMs if I have issues...
