Maybe I should start a poll Whats your most hated shop job?

My most hated job would have to be cleaning out the coolant tank on milling machines they are always nasty, stinky, with a inch of chips and crud on the bottom. I always did it later in the day so I could go home and shower.

Cleaning the machine after high speed milling, it produces spikes so thin and sharp like tuna cactus spikes thiner than hair, that takes days to get them off my skin and hurt.

Deburring, especially on small parts.

Deburring - definitely deburring. Seems like such a waste of time, but it has to be done.

Well, there's also, er, nah, it's deburring, just deburring.

I actually don't much like debarring - have I mentioned that yet?

I've just finished a run of a thousand of these little knurly rollers:

Had to debur after parting off, and after drilling each one.

Deburring is my least favorite job. . .

This is a hobby for me so there is nothing about it that I hate. My real world job is in no way related to machine shop or even hands on type work so I enjoy anything having to do with my machines and my hobby!
