Making a sensitive drill for lathe advice request

I started with a smaller drill, but I had it going so stepped up to the 1/8 bit needed for the part. I had to make a part, so decided to POC my newly made tool for it.

used a .055 and took it about an inch deep in the brass at about 1000 Rpm. Just wanted to get a feel for it.
