Made a billet high performance ice cream maker part today.

OMG, what a flash back for an ice cream motor. Very nice replication on the part.
We had a whole pig rotisserie made from an early ice cream motor, bicycle sprockets that turned an early Dodge pickup truck steering box, turning a 10' pipe. The reduction ended up ~ 1 RPM. everyone who tried could not physically stop the rotation, what a memory. Okay back to the program...

We made a batch of ice cream today and it was all successful. I had a random thought as it was being made. They talk about 6061 like it’s space age and aircraft aluminum. Isn’t 6061 basically the standard base model aluminum? Have these terms sick from when it was first created or is there a cheaper non space age aluminum?
