I like the brazing myself , done right it melts into the pores of the casting making it much stronger then it's prior state of just cast. I'd pin it or drill and tap . Then grind vee channels in the brake , clean and braze it . Put it in a oven to cool down overnite or longer. But I've seen braised up parts put right back inservice. With no rebrakes or cracking.
