The non-chuck end, outside, whatever is a 30211J, I scored an ABEC 7 version for $150 - perhaps 'scored' is a bit to cheary, maybe 'got soaked for' is better to state that, any way, will try and do the same with what ever the other end is perhaps 30212 but I won't know untill I take it apart, and I am not even sure where to start...
A bit more information" not sure about the chuck end...
"30211" bearing, which is listed online as 55m I.D. and 100mm O.D.
"D7211" (outboard) "55mmx100mmx23mm" and "D7212" (inboard) "60mmx110mmx24mm" a.k.a: "30212"
Pretty sure those are Class 0/ Normal. ABEC 9 is 'wicked good' vs ABEC 1 is down right crappy, and the cost doubles or so between each class. The $150 I paid would have been closer to $1000 had I not done my midnight run at Fleabay (for 1 bearing), and paid going rate.
Ok, I will make some copies of the manual for everybody. There are three books, the parts manual, the operating manual, and a factory checklist with actual measurements for my lathe. What they spec and test for may be amusing, so I will copy anything I have that seems remotely interesting and not readily downloaded.
Been looking at this lathe a bit and am trying to decide if the bearing need to be replaced - probably not. Also trying to figure out how to do the actual measurements - positing the DTI, etc...
The alignment information is very timely - Thanks Curt!
