For some reason I started to post some pictures tonight and it said I must allow "Cookies" I've been reading hoping to fine a solution myself but now I am asking what should I do to solve the problem. I did finally complete the latest post "Rustinox made me do it" but I am seeing no notifications and it is not showing up in the recent postings. Also I have been active in the thread "Take one leave one" and I am not getting any notifications of any of those new postings. Thanks in advance.

Only time I've been challenged by the site is on a different machine, or if somehow I have logged out of the site. So make sure you are logged in to HM. Hopefully one of the admins will see this and will help out. I believe that there's a special section of the forum for site specific help. Maybe a post there would be helpful. It's in the first section of the forum, near the top.

Admin here. Thanks for posting your question. I'll take a look at your other posts and see if anything looks amiss. In the meantime...

"Cookies 101..."

Our forum software uses cookies to recognize registered members login information. This is for your convenience. The benefits of cookies are:

1) The server "recognizes" you as an individual and not as a guest or a bot. You can opt out of this individualized recognition. This is done by checking or unchecking the box when "Remember Me" when you login. The next time you visit H-M, you won't need to login. This the most intrusive part of using the limited cookies we use here at H-M.

2) The other piece is that the server remembers your settings so you don't need to reset your personal preferences every time. This may be the area you are having trouble with, if you haven't accepted cookies, every time you load a new page to your browser, the server is looking for your settings, preferences and privileges. The forum is vast so certain sections or pages may have permissions set that do not match your preferences in a way that confuses the server and is denying you permissions. This is where I will look.

There are no key logging features or personal information the cookies are looking for, they are simply there to keep you logged in, if you choose to do so, and to do it in a way that is distraction free. We don't sell people's information to third parties either, so everything is secure on the site.
