Longer stem for indicator

This link on Mitutoyo website and scroll down to 513-504 lists the default contact tip as 18.7mm or 0.7362" in length.

Just to be clear: The tip length of 18.7mm stated on the web is the L1 measurement. L2 is 0.60 as illustrated in the Mitutoyo catalog drawing.

I really like that Interapid 312B-15 indicator but a new one is over $400.

Interapid makes the best indicators available, as far as I'm concerned, but even a 2.6~" reach doesn't cut it for a lot of chambering jobs. Mitty makes good indicators and the '504 has the reach (with an extended tip).

There is a 5.5" tip available for the Interapid 312B-15. Will make it a .001" indicator.

I think the one I have will work out good for what I do with a longer stem.
