I have a Legacy Adaptor. Not sure where to get answers to my problem, so I will start here. Of course it stopped working. Numbers light up, but do not change as I move X,Y, or Z. Green light is on. Blu light is blinking. Red light is out. Took board out and part labeled U3 is hot to touch. Not warm but very hot. Is this my power supply and is it shot? What do I do? I do not want to upgrade at this time, because I do not want to change refit my ez gauge scales to glass scales. I know everyone is excited about the new version of the adaptors, but there has to be lots of us legacy users out here.

Thanks, Harris

Harris,
"Legacy Adaptor" doesn't say much. Can you post a photo of the board? That will help me figure out what version you have.

Here is photo. I added the ground wire when I installed the board. I am not looking for a freebie, if I have to purchase a new board that is fine. What I am looking for is to get up and running with as little trouble as possible. Yuriy, I have always supported you and this project.

Thanks,
Harris

Yuriy, I did not realize you were on vacation with your family. That is important, so take you time replying to my posts.

However looking at your site and see you are making an adapter to use i gauging scales for the quill with new TDA-420. I am using Absolute DRO plus scales. Can we use the new adapter with the new conversion attachment with the old scales. Would that work what would be the pros and cons. So if this works you could sell a kit for legacy users, new TDA-420 and 3 conversion attachments. And we could upgrade with out having to buy 3 new glass scales. New glass scales run about $150 each. So if you sell the conversion attachments at $50, that would be a savings of $300, plus not having to retrofit glass scales. Hopefully I have explained this so it makes sense.

Enjoy your vacation with your family.

Took the liberty of converting the HEIC to jpeg (attached)

Thanks that is way beyond my skill level.

Harris,
U3 on this board is a 3.3V regulator that feeds the scales only. Usually when voltage regulators get hot, there is a short somewhere. When these fail, they usually fail open.
Try unplugging all of the scales and see if that makes any difference. With nothing plugged in, you should see 3.3V between the "Vcc" and "Ground" pins next to the USB connectors.
Also, check for any junk in or under the Micro USB connectors.

Da nada: happened to see that it didn't display and was an easy change. I have Radiant Photo on my iPhone so I can edit photos and change into jpg easily.

Just FYI I paid considerably less then 150 a scale for 5 micron glass. Even the 24" one I bought for my lathe was only 85 shipped. And that was last year. I highly recommend glass scales over igaging scales. I had ezview plusses with a touchdro adapter. Switching to glass scales was night vs day. Stable, accurate and repeatable. Yeah I had to wire up level shifters but Yuri's instructions were easy to follow.

I am using Lithium Battery PL 503041, this is original battery I installed when I set up my adapter. So I must have gotten the number from information that came with it.

However now when I look at the battery connector, I find that the red wire on the connector (male) when plugged into the connector (female) on the board it plugs into the negative terminal. The black wire plugs into the terminal marked with a plus. This has been that way since I first used the adapter.

I checked the original battery and it was dead. Ordered new battery, terminals are in same position. Black goes to + and Red goes to -. Plugged battery in and U3 instantly goes hot to touch. So I switched plugs around. By lifting tab and pulling wire and terminal out of connector. Now red goes to + and black goes to -. Plugged battery back in and U3 instantly goes hot to touch. Same as when terminals were other way.

Tried to check Vcc and Ground pins on all little holes next to USB connectors as you set out in your reply. Got 3.3 v for a second, then could not get 3.3 reading any more. Checked my meter and it is working.

If there is no easy fix, will look at my options.

Thanks again, Harris
