Yea... this forum rocks, I this gives me a whole Buncha stuff to try. Being an auto shop we have loads of scrap metal, and why didn't I think of pulleys, that's one of the most common parts we need for heavy duty trucks and the asphalt plant we work on. Oh and love the idea about boring the pipe for a square holder, and definitely going to look into the post on making my own tool post

Some good cast iron and alum in car and truck parts I find. Part of my radius turner is made from chevy 350 crank bearing block

I MADE A RAMROD TO GET THE 5c ADAPTER COLLAR OUT OF THE SPINDLE ON MY MAXIMAT SUPER 11 LATHE .

IT IS JUST A 1 3/8 ALUMINUM BAR THAT SLIDES THROUGH THE 35mm HOLE THROUGH THE SPINDLE .

WHEN YOU WANT TO REMOVE THE COLLAR , JUST TAP IT FROM THE INSIDE WITH THE RAM ROD .
THE STRAIGHT LINE FORCE REMOVES THE COLLAR QUITE EASILY .

I MADE THE TOOL ON THE LATHE , FOR THE LATHE .

I made a wiggler for centering punch marks on a face plate or in a 4jaw chuck.

I even got it very very concentric

You know it's bad when your excited about the metal stick you made with a point on and a center hole in the other end.

Made a small milling attachment by welding some 3/4 plate to a BXA tool holder. Works great for small parts and keyways. Saves me the time it takes to mount my big milling attachment.
