lathe dials

what i was going to do since my old dial od is 3/4 and the new dial id is 3/4 i was going to press the new dial on the old dial if its a tad tight and then install a set screw or i will make a new bushing to fit the new dial:)) mac

That's basically what I did on my Atlas lathe. Now I have a direct reading dial. Move it .001" and you take off .001".

You can barely see it but there's a thumb screw in the lower left of the picture that you can loosen to rotate the dial.

I had to move to the desktop as the Ipad had issues with the picture files that were on the system from a previous post.

WOW Great job. What a huge improvement. That was one of my issues with any Atlas that I owned was I couldn't see the dials! Someone could make some money selling those. As much as Atlas stuff sells for on FleaBay I am surprised that I haven't seen those.
