First post and I'm already looking for some help! I bought a Lagun FTV-2 mill from an auction knowing it would have some problems. I got it for what I feel like was a steal so I don't mind spending some money getting it going. One of the first things I know it needs is the crank handles replaced. So I go online to find them and do not seem to be having any luck. The 3 I need to replace for the X and Y axis are a 16mm shaft with a 5mm key, and the keyway size seems to be the problem. I can find them all day long with a 3mm key. Is the best option to just buy the 3mm version and re-broach the keyway? I also noticed it has a 7 tooth engagement on the knee crank and most I find are a 9. I have located a 7 tooth but should I try and convert it to a 9? Thanks in advance.

Re-broaching sounds like the way to go for the X and Y. You may have to fabricate a knee crank or mod a Bridgeport one
The 7 cog ones are hard to find- you might call H&W and see if they happen to have one 1-800-285-5271

I have the same mill and they are fantastic. Parts are still available from Lagun if you don't mind spending the money to get right to work. Mods of other parts are always an option in this hobby. You'll just have to pick which way to go. Also, we always appreciate pics of new equipment even when we have em.

Thank you all! Now let me see if I can load some photos.

It looks like you have all the parts and just the ball crank knobs are broken. Buy something close and bore/broach to a perfect fit. Or try H-W Machine and see if they've parted any out. If you have a lathe and some type of ball turner, then it might be worth a DIY.
