Is my chuck mount repeatable?

Harold Waters from "Amateur Redneck Workshop said" Every job starts at the Bandsaw. Well not in my shop. "Every job starts looking for something I could not find yesterday."

I was in the process of putting new spark plugs in my 2003 Envoy when this happened. I have 2 shops. Old shop/New Shop. I needed a pair of needle nose plyers from the new shop so I walked from Old shop to New shop to get the plyers. Next thing I know I was looking at my lathe chuck. Somewhere in-between Old shop and New shop I must have walked across the bridge of dead brain cells. Long story short I made this video then found the plyers and went back to the Old shop to change the spark plugs. Am I the only one this happens to? Nuff of my Stuff ! on with the video.

Today I put the chuck back on the lathe and here is the video of the results after at least a month off of the machine un-disturbed.

So you tell me how repeatable is the threaded mount? I am seeing a difference of -.0015 on jaw 3 and jaws 2 and 4 seem to cancel themselves out at +.002 and -.002.. The shaft used does have some rust on it now that it did not have when I took the measurements in part #1 of the test. Due to all the meds I must take twice per day my touch seems to be corrosive. I've used every know rust preventative known including Boe Sheild T-9 and nothing I touch goes without rusting. So I'm guessing the variance in numbers are a combination of Human error/rust and how tight the chuck was torqued when i removed it from the spindle.

Thanks for stopping by.
