That "light weight" plays an important part in my estimation. Being in a wood frame structure, weight is a big issue. I would love to have a full sized machine, drooling over BPs as I go. But the main factor for small machines, to me, is that I do small work for modeling. And a small machine takes up (much) less space and uses less power.The reasons to have an Atlas horizontal mill are because it is light weight, small, easily transported, easily moved into one's basement and it is better than having no mill at all
