Interesting humidity and filament experiment

I recently found this article while investigating filament drying strategies. The author weighs the filament in his experiments, which seems a more accurate indicator of moisture loss/gain IMHO.

It is very simple. The Sovol unlike others is a 12v box. The controllers run coolest at 12v and are available all over the place. The relays have isolated contacts and you can just jump one relay to 12v and the other relay to GND. now, the unused contact on each realy goes to one side of the heater. There is a fan on the inside of the box to keep the %RH even and more quickly dry the roll. The power supplies for dry boxes suck, they last about 6 months and I have to by a $12 6a replacement from Amazon that works very well.

The big deal is that when it is dry in your room then the dryers use very little power after they are finished drying the filament and maintenance to keep the filament dry is much less.. This is set and forget, no having to constantly press buttons on the dryer. I found that dryers that were always on consumed a large amount of expensive power.

I saw it is no longer available, but the following is with the problem that the relays are not isolated, so you have to make a cut on the board to isolate one of the relays 12v and solder it to GND. I have pictures of the process if you wish to pursue it.
