If you get tired of reaching for a wrench

Awe, that's no fun. Looked like a big ol' parabolic drill bit for a minute.

There used to be this guy at the swap meet selling a drill set that claimed they would drill through practically anything (for the average user) & he demonstrated. They were pretty much just carbide tipped masonary bits. So many people were buying them.
 
DZ, I know what you mean. Apparently those real parabolic drills are awesome, you can even make Christmas decorations from the chips. If I win the Power Ball jackpot I will buy us each one.

But while we are on a budget, and having fun way off topic, those common carbide spade drills can be ground into cute little boring bars or trepanning tools. Being able to grind carbide opens up whole new possibilities, especially for those with more time than money.

Hah! I'm 80 years old, and just learned something. Thanks to all for their tips on using masonry bits for steel. I know where I can use that! Got stunk with those CE 1-2-3 blocks with out the hole opposite being large enough to get the proper bolt through. Thanks all, Pierre
