How to remove 'old' brass flare fittings??

The project requires remove several old, weathered, brass flare fitings. I have had success with PB Blaster on steel, however the first 2 fittings I tried failed. The wrench twisted the hex sides.
Is there a solution better suited for brass?
Heat is not a practical option because the fittings are on rubber hose.
Thanks in advance, Dan
Old and weathered sounds like they need replacing .
I often cut the line and use a 6 point socket on the nut .
I also like Channel lock 410 pliers they have been great on stubborn flare nuts and bleeder screws.
As far as penetrating oils , I have found over the years its all just psychological support.
I will often with careful trigger control give stubborn connections a rap with the air impact gun.

I've made my own flare nut wrench by cutting out a section of a box-end wrench.

I have sometimes used a vice grip pliers that is designed to clamp on 3 of the flats, they seem to work well but need a fair amount of clearance around the fitting. Have not had great luck with the cheepo flare nut wrenches.
