How do I use my coolant pump?

My Micromaster has only flood coolant, but it does have a wheel guard that incorporates the vacuum port, it takes about a 3" diameter hose. On the vacuum system, the connection to the coolant tank takes the place of a air filter box that would otherwise be required to catch grit and swarf.
