How did you organize your milling machine wires?

Unless you are an electronics tech, shortening the wires is not practical. I have seen people screw up and trash an encoder because they felt the need to 5s the cables and put them too tight, table caught the wires and yanked them out. That was an expensive fix on a 4 axis accurite system...
 
I agree, I wouldn't go through the trouble of shortening the encoder cables. I was an electronic tech & would have no problem shortening them but I didn't bother. Not for the encoder cables anyway, power cables & other wires I did shorten to length.

I used low profile zip ties & those self stick mounting squares as well as cable clamps on existing screw holes. The double sided adhesive that comes on the mounting squares don't hold up for long for machine use though. I replaced it with 3M Extreme double sided mounting tape & haven't had one fall off since, even the one on my mill table for the power feed limit switch that occasionally gets oil, etc on it.
