How did you organize your milling machine wires?

Happy Easter.

Question, my mill is trammed and ready to go to work.
How did you organize your DRO wires (way too long) can I shorten them?
Three cords for the power feeds and the DRO.
Thanks for sharing your organizational ideas!

You could make some small loops, then ziptie the wire to something, leaving enough slack for full range of motion.

Alas, I am still waiting for the mill fairie to visit me.

I didn’t shorten my wires - you never know when that extra length might come in handy! Loop and cable tie them to the rear of your DRO arm. I drilled and tapped holes for p-clips along the route of the cables.
Keep signal cables away from AC mains cables by a few inches. This reduces the risk of inducing mains frequency noise into the signal cables.

Could shorten them but leave an extra 6 inches for future things like the 6 inch riser or adjusting the DRO angle. And also zip tie and route neatly to the mill body. There are surface mounting pads with adhesive for that purpose like command strips but made for wires.

I've purchased cheap electrical enclosures to stuff long cables into. Hang it from the back of your machine with a few knockouts punched in the bottom with grommet edging. Pull your cables and tuck neatly in the box, then close the cover. Looks professional. Also spiral wrap and screw down zip tie saddles are going to be your friend.
