I'm glad to report the Grainger 1hp TEFC motor started up just fine and cut some lumber this afternoon at my son's old house.
It was all worth it after I saw the appreciation on his face when it fired up.
i would not want to seem like i'm nit picking, but the belt is incorrect for the pulley.
at a guess, it may need a B width belt, for the longevity of the belt.
(in a perfect world)
the belt should grip on the V sides of the belt.
the center of the belt should not come into contact with the pulley
the outside of the belt should be slightly higher than the pulley, when everything is riding correctly
Yeah, I noticed that. But it’s a cast iron pulley and it was on the original motor.
It’s actually round and runs smooth. The die cast pulleys are crap.
I bet I leave it. I’d take that bet
