Oh, that's 6061? I was assuming MIC-6 because of the size. It's a low load system and the pinion chunk looks large enough that I doubt you'll ever have an issue with delrin. A lot more strength is available with GF nylon, but you probably won't need it. The original was zamak, after all. Zamak does have some respectable engineering properties, so it's not a total joke, but delrin on a 6061 cog should run for a very long time.
