Help with T-Nuts /T-Bolts

Rick,

check with Grainger, Fastenal and industrial supply outfits. Have you searched on Teco tuts and see what comes up. I think enco sells them also as well as the Gibraltar brand. For t nuts you should be covered with these suppliers. MSC also might sells them.

Guys, if my table has a 1/2" t-slot (upper narrower portion) ...3/8" just seems so darn small ..... it seems like 1/2" studs/rods should be more appropriate.... but the slot is only 1/2". Am I making too much of this?

Splat, If your table has "only" 1/2 inch slots, That should be enough for the size of spindle and HP of the machine.

Proper clamping is more important than bolt size. Easy if the vise has slots for the bolts.. For studs and risers, remember to keep the studs closer to the work than to the riser block. It's a matter of leverage. Are you clamping the work to the table or the riser block to the table? It's forgotten / neglected by paid machinists, many parts have been FUBAR'd by this concept.
