Help me identify collet and help remove

Thanks for info. Is this a spindle I can get holders for. Or how do I change out spindle to a R8

I think Jim Dawson is on the right track.
My Wells-Index has a Kwik-Switch tool holder unit installed. My info. said that Wells-Index units could be ordered with different propriatory systems installed. Wells is still in business in Michigan and I have found them to be helpful when talking with the archive folks on older machines. They got me a manual and info. on who first ordered my machine based off the serial number. (pre-covid, not sure what hours etc. are now)

As far as heat, you could do something like put a couple 100 watt lightbulbs underneath overnight (if you can still find them), should be pretty safe
I wouldn't use a torch.
You don't want it too hot to touch, just around 110 deg. F would be enough to get things moving

The arbor might have a bit of rust on it that's causing it to stick to the spindle. I have had good success with Sea Foam Deep Creep I own a Outboard Service & Repair shop here in Australia and the product has helped me out numerous times. Good luck with it.
