A friend gave me one of the "Baldor clone" carbide grinders with the green "concrete" wheels. I have another grinder with a diamond wheel setup for carbide and want to get a CBN or Aluminum oxide wheel for HSS grinding on the Harbor Freight machine. My problem is that I don't know what the style of wheel for that grinder is called. I cant seem to get anywhere trying to order one of those "5 inch or so aluminum oxide wheels that uses 4 bolts to hold it on". Any help is appreciated.

Many just call them "Plate mounted grinding wheels". I believe the actual industry designation is a "Type 50".
Common dimensions are 6 inch diameter x 1-1/4 inch.
I picked up three grinders when Harbor Freight was closing them out and set them up with Silicon Carbide, Aluminum Oxide, and Diamond wheels so I don,t have to swap them.

I just flipped one of those HF tool grinders a few days ago. looked to be practically unused. picked it up with a couple other machines. it also had the green wheels on it. no idea how well they work. Grizzly sells that same machine now. I have the older Baldor version. 1963, I think.

Does anyone know where to get a replacement water dripper cup? I have a MSC copy of this grinder, would be nice to get the dripper. I have a white wheel on it and a CBN.

Up at the land fill ! Little late , but a question for all .

The original tool and die shop had a grinder for carbide . It had coolant and it " sparked " the material . We used to call it the electrolitic (sp) wet hone . I've never seen one after they shut down .

On another note , I tore one of these grinders apart for mounting wire wheels and buffing wheels . The shafts are 3/4" , bigger than my 1/2" . need to buy some hubs for this WIP project .

Type 50 Thank you. That is what I was looking for. I am sure that I will be able to find the wheels I want.

I ordered a replacement cup through KBC tools. They are not cheap.

3/4" bore . I wish I knew @WobblyHand could have used the cups and the rests . :(
