GS Tooling End Mill Holders

It’s not bait and switch.
It's 100% bait and switch. There's a lot of BS going on in the tool world as production moves from U.S./Japan to Taiwan then to China. Funny how they intentionally leave the country of origin blank when it's China. Or they say "international" when production has moved from Japan or Taiwan to China, yet the price didn't change. Don't get me started on their lack of honesty.

Who makes?

The green paint looks familiar but I cant place it.
Bought from Penn Tool, on sale plus the 1st order discount. Was cheaper than a generic 5C plus 5C/ER32 adapter and I don’t have any other use for 5C collets.

Amazon & eBay have them in blue from several sellers.

I do not agree that they are the same or equivalent, they are not what is shown or described for the 3 on the left. What is shown and described are Sowa brand holders, which are high quality and mid priced. As such you do not expect to receive anything different supposedly with the same specifications. You are paying for the brand, unless they state otherwise. If misrepresented then I would notify them as such and contact my credit card company if not as described. You may have to pay return shipping but not restocking. I can tell you having a number of Sowa products they are much better finished and better made then the picture of what they sent you. Many small difference vs. Substituting generic Chinese holders. Future reference is verify before you buy if a specific brand.

FYI, saw something like this recently on lathes for sale, thought great deal recognizing the picture, but didn't match the model number and description. Buyer beware.

I’ll stick with my Chevy:
I've got one in the same paint job. Yours says 5C but an ER spindle. I swapped ends on my 5C version so I could get closer to small work using small tooling. There's a bit more clearance between the spindle and the casting than I'd prefer. Most of the time I just clamp it in the vice, quick! Back when I bought it for about $50 it seemed tolerable. Maybe making an ER spindle for it would be a good project??

Hardened and saves some tedious threading; also will put the face of the ER collets further out from the body to provide the access you want. I looked at a 5C Indexer & adapter when I made my purchase but higher cost and at this point didn’t see ever getting 5C collets.

I can see trying to standardize on one collet system. I got started with 5C when I ordered a 5C chuck with my PM lathe. So as I added stuff it was 5C. I got started with a set of collets by 1/32s, not knowing the limitations of clamping range. Over time I've added some "by 64ths" and some square & hex. I now have: ER40 chuck, R8 to ER40 & collets by 1/32s. Permits me to cover what I can't with my 5C collets. Need to add 5c to ER40 adapter. I've seen them on eBay for $50>60. Little machine shop doesn't carry them.

Main reason I didn’t start with 5C is that adding a 5C chuck to a 7x makes a lit less sense than adding an ER32 (ER40 may make more sense than ER32, but more mass; with non-standard collets I can seamlessly go from 1mm up to 26mm with my ER32).
