Glass scales

I got as far as plugging them into the TouchDro and watching numbers move. The scales seem to be working so far. It will be interesting to get them on the machine and calibrated.

Does anyone know if these Easson (DroPros) scales can be mounted with the readhead horizontal? It seems that most folks install glass scales with the readhead hanging down from the scale which makes some sense based on how the scales seem to be constructed and is often the simplest mounting. But I am thinking I can mount my x-axis scale on the front of the table and retain my the power feed stops if I could mount the scale with the readhead horizontal.

The read heads don't care as long as they are set up square to the glass scale. You just need to keep debris out of them.

The eBay DROPROS bargains may be gone by now - were they cheaper than these ones which I bought recently? ($53 USD + reasonable shipping)

They were perfectly packed and came with a good selection of mounting hardware - not much of which I could use because I was squeezing things into limited spaces on my mini mill.
They seem to be working well with my TouchDRO adapter.
